| Brief History... Hillcross Beach Resort was originally owned by a Norwegian family, the Bessents. Mr. Bessent along with a local contractor, Chuck LaCross, built the resort starting with four split log cottages along the shores of Lake Huron, and one cottage on US 23, next to the Bessent home. In 1964 Hillcross was purchased by Bob and Kay Herzog from Mrs. Bessent.The resort has since then been run by the Herzogs every year since 1964. This year Kay's son's Bob & Mark will be continuing her family's tradition and success by running the resort. For years the resort has been providing a wonderful family experience. The Herzogs have seen children that were coming in 1964 that are now coming with their own children. The resort has become a great family tradition for everyone who stays there. |

Currently three cottages are available to rent throughout the summer. Each offers a full kitchen including utensils, bath, two to three bedrooms, and each has its own fireplace. There is automatic heat, screened porches, tv's and furnished linens. Family pets are more than welcome. |

For those guests who are looking to shop or to do some sight-seeing, Hillcross Beach Resort is conveniently located ten miles away from Mackinaw City. Mackinaw City has many attractions to keep you busy. There are specialty shops, a cinema, a theatre, live music and a spectacular laser light show in the evening. Mackinac Island is just a ferry ride away. While there you can bike around the island, see the Grand Hotel, go horse back riding, shop, or visit many of the historic parks such as Fort Mackinac. After an exciting day in the area you can come back an enjoy a relaxing evening on the beach around a bonfire. |
